The Workforce Education and Business (WEB) Partnership is a community linking Nassau County School Districts – their students and fast-growing industries on Long Island.
Services Resources to School Districts:
Presentations to Career Curriculum classes, College Career Fairs/Nights, Career Days, etc. on the career resources of HempsteadWorks — including:
Summer Youth Employment Program summer paid work internships
Financial support for post-secondary technical training leading to a post high school job
In-school and Out-of-school youth employment programs
NYS registered Apprenticeship programs
CEO utilizes its Business contacts in the areas of Manufacturing, Healthcare, Biotech, Cleantech and Renewable Energy to advance ongoing relationships between these growth sectors and Town of Hempstead School Districts

Opportunities Long Island: a 240 hours apprenticeship training program preparing young adults for a career in union construction trades
Island Harvest Workforce Skills Development Institute: grant funded training programs in Warehousing & Inventory, Repacking Operations, and Culinary Basics
NYSDOL United Way Power Up: Wind, Solar & Renewables Career Training. A free training program to prepare graduating students, or recent graduates, to obtain good jobs in the growing wind, solar and renewable energy industry.
NYSDOL Registered Apprenticeships: A small, but growing, resource for graduating students on Long Island: https://dol.ny.gov/apprenticeship/apprenticeship-trades;
Nassau County Community College – Workforce Development Training: potential scholarships and assistance with certificate programs in areas such as: Data Analysis, Certified Personal Trainer, Pharmacy or Dialysis or Phlebotomy or EKG Technician, Commercial Driver’s License, etc.
Suffolk County Community College Advance Manufacturing Training Center: certificates in CNC operator, welding, IPC Certification, PLC/Industrial Automation, Mastercam, Soldering and Electronic Assembly.

The WEB Partnership and Long Island Industries
The goal of the CEO/HempsteadWorks WEB Partnership is to continually identify the industry growth centers on Long Island in order to connect potential employees with employment in growth industries with career potential
The WEB Partnership holds meetings with specific fast-growing industry sectors engaged in the Long Island economy. Via the meetings, and the industry sectors they support, the WEB Partnership endeavors to:
Assist businesses in identifying and acquiring trained and skilled employees
Engage businesses with career education in local school districts
Create partnerships among a range of stakeholders
Develop networks with businesses, school districts, governmental services and community-based organizations
Connect growing Long Island Businesses with the professional resources of HempsteadWorks
WEB Partnerships in the Town of Oyster Bay
CEO provides services to at-risk youth in the Towns of: Oyster Bay, North Hempstead, and the city of Glen Cove. The program focuses on high school dropout prevention, work-readiness skills, and aiding students in applying for post-secondary education or securing good entry-level employment.
Program Overview:
To be eligible, students must be from a family with low income and meet another need as identified in the grant:
Students receive up to 120 hours of paid employment during the Summer that will align with the student’s unique career interests and vocational goals.
Students participate in weekly career readiness instruction with a school certified Career Consultant. This program is sponsor funded by Department of Labor designed to provide all students with work readiness skills.
