Community Access

Transitioning to the world of work requires more than vocational skills.  In order to successfully transition, individuals need to be able to navigate their community and develop financial, civic, and social skills. At CEO, we utilize Community Access opportunities to foster skill development in these areas.  Community Access allows students to explore, learn about and utilize the resources available to them in the community.  It includes trips to various locations in the community where the students can acquire and practice skills for independent living, such as reading and ordering from menus, budgeting and paying for purchases, utilizing the DMV, Department of Labor and using the public library’s resources. Through these planned trips, students learn life skills with the support of a CEO Career Consultant.
